The Golden Tether

Dream: The Golden Tether
Dream Owner: ??
Location: FurN
Dream Rating: AO

I've come to, "The Golden Tether" on multiple occasions to RP some of my characters. I absolutely enjoy this dream and the RP opportunities it holds. One of my favorite parts about this dream is there is an underlining story line to be held, but you can give your own creative spin-off to directly suite your character. This dream is home to nearly 100 players, if not more. There's a diverse group of people, and many of them are gladly willing to RP or have a chat.

While there's really no one that comes around and greets people, I still enjoy this dream. Most of the people I've encountered were very friendly and out-going. I've received lots of RP requests in the past on alts. If you have a vampire, werewolf, "goddess", slave, or any other mythical/human like character, I suggest giving this place a try!

When you arrive in the dream, you're placed on a Dock out over a raging ocean. This gives the dream a dark, and somewhat "Magical" feel. The large golden lion that sits on a chair on the dock is the bot. If you can't find the dream, all you have to do is say `join TGT and you'll automatically be summoned!

When you walk off the dock, you can choose to go into the doorway between the large stair cases, or go up the stairs, which will lead into a large RP area. That RP area is where you'll find most of those who are interested in RPing.

If you choose to go between the stair cases, you find yourself in a hall way. If you proceed forward, you'll find yourself in yet, another hall way, with a door on the left and a door in front of you. The door on the left is not accessible to those who aren't staff. So, we're left with going straight through, which brings us to the dungeon-like area with cages.

This dream is truly beautiful and it's very difficult to cover the whole dream. I've taken a few screen shots for you all to enjoy. There's a beach, garden, gladiator area, jungle and much more to explore here. I suggest you take a look!

The Vale

Dream: The Vale
Owner: Artick
Location: Allegria Islands
Dream Rating: T+

I've been to "The Vale" a couple of times and when I just recently started this blog, I was shocked to find it had completely turned around with a whole new map. As soon as you arrive, you're placed in the OOC - typical for dreams. I sat in the dream for several minutes, where it was occupied by many people who were active and not AFK. Many passer-byers arrived and went on their way to the IC zone. No one greeted me when I arrived, but instead, they continued their own conversation. That seems to the problem with a lot of these widely-populated dreams nowadays..

There's a large, "Welcome To The Vale" sign in the OOC, along with another sign directing you towards the IC area which is fairly helpful.

As I'm walking even deeper into the IC area of The Vale, I'm noticing there are some real similarities to "Denali National Park" - almost like a knock off, to be honest. I've been in the Vale before it's revamp, and Denali's style was there first. So there's no arguing that the similarities aren't coincidence. Inside sources have told me that there was a dispute between Denali and The Vale over a patch that was stolen - I spoke with the artist themselves, and it was confirmed that they, in fact, were stolen and The Vale was caught using this patch.

There are some nice areas in the dream, but I can't get past the fact that there were stolen patches in the dream, and that's it's very similar to Denali. The large group of people that RP here might make for a nice RP spot, but I cannot support a dream that's been involved in theft.

Wandering more into it, I found some very bland spots that need a little more decorating, and the leveling of the dream was pretty flat.

I've come to find that there are quite a lot of rude people in this dream, however, I also did meet some very nice people. I suppose all popular dreams have their little groups of "trolls" - I will not name names or call people out, so please, do not ask me who they were. I'll be the respectful one in the matter here.

No dream is perfect. The wolf avatar (found as "Canine" species) was fairly bouncy and didn't have a smooth walkabout. The dream has some nice parts and there are lots of RP opportunities. However, like I said, I don't support dreams directly linked with theft. In my personal opinion, I'll stick with Denali.

The Canine Refuge

Dream: The Canine Refuge
Owner: Calyxion
Location: Allegria Islands
Dream Rating: T+

I've come to, "The Canine Refuge" once before in the past with some friends on an alt. I remember it being pretty busy last time I was here, and from what I remember, it was a very nice place to be with decent people. They only recently came back, that I'm aware of and it seems to be quite dead - at least at the time I had come into it. Overall, the dream was very nice and it looks the same as it did way back when..

They've got a very pretty skin that I'm going to assume is either custom or a premade - either way, it makes the dream more welcoming!

When you arrive in the dream, you're place on a bridge-like road way that's nicely decorated with a sign that directs over to the help desk. I find this placement of item very informing.

As you go further into the dream towards the, "Help Desk," you arrive inside a building with a desk, lots of chairs, and a neatly places water fountain in the middle. When I first arrived, there was only one person there, who was AFK. However, as I sat a bit longer, I was greeted by the owner, Calyxion, who was very polite, indeed! Along came another visitor who was also very kind and greeted us.

When you come out to the left of the help desk center, you find yourself out on a road-way, giving it the grungy, city-like tone. Personally, that's one of my favorite scenes! When I was big into feral RPs, that was typically where my characters RP'd - I love the, "street rat" rps. Sadly, not a lot of people do them anymore!

When you wander the dream a bit more, you find that it's a very urban-city like dream. It somewhat reminds me of parts of New York that I've visited. One of my favorite parts of this dream is the play ground areas for those who like to play the kiddie furries/humans!

Another thing I find great about this dream is the fact that they incorporate games to help keep guests occupied in their stay. There's a building specifically for it, as well as commands to get there.

As you continue on into the dream, you find all sorts of places to wander around in. There's a vets offices, a nice outside RP area, and much more. This is overall, a beautiful dream with very nice people. I enjoyed my time here and will more than likely continue coming to it with an alt! I suggest that you take the time and take a look around as well!

Denali National Park

Dream: Denali National Park
Owner: Eike
Location: Allegria Islands
Map Rating: T+

I've been in Denali National Park several times... The dream is very well kept together, and owned by a very sweet person. You can see that they've worked hard on their dream. While taking the realistic route, they've done a good job adding different regions and using the "FX" options of the dream. Their placement of items and use of the stream through out the dreams gives it that realistic feel. I don't see why more people don't visit this place. It's absolutely gorgeous and worth the visit if you play a feral-type characters.

Denali offers more avatars than just wolves, as well, which is another reason I like it. You don't feel strictly kept to just playing a canine character, but you can play a badger, bear, or, if all things work out right, a horse!

When you first enter the dream, you're welcomed by a large, open are with a large, "Denali" sign. Typically, there are a few people sitting in the front, including the owner, most of the time. I was welcomed warmly and instantly engaged in conversation.

While the dream is still undergoing construction and development, I've found that it's still a very pleasant dream to be in!

As you go deeper into the dream, you find the division between regions. The icy-snowy area is just big enough to be called "home" for a pack with a nicely placed den. It's a very nice spot to sit in for those "wintry" characters!

I find their use of items to create small places with rock walls extremely creative and very talented. The use of a background image to give the appearance of being on a mountain also gave me a sense of reality. Everything about this area of the dream made me smile!

This area below is also a very nice spot to give it the effect of going through passage ways in a mountain. Absolutely stunning work!

The use of terrain walls to show different levels to give it that rocky-hilly look is also wonderful.

One thing I really enjoyed was the transition between the river and the land, giving it that woodsy, forest look.

Overall, this dream was absolutely gorgeous and I loved it. I HIGHLY suggest this dream for those who like the realistic feral RP scenes. While it's not widely populated now, I have no doubt in my mind that it will become a popular dream one of these days! I, myself, will be visiting quite often!
