I've been to "The Vale" a couple of times and when I just recently started this blog, I was shocked to find it had completely turned around with a whole new map. As soon as you arrive, you're placed in the OOC - typical for dreams. I sat in the dream for several minutes, where it was occupied by many people who were active and not AFK. Many passer-byers arrived and went on their way to the IC zone. No one greeted me when I arrived, but instead, they continued their own conversation. That seems to the problem with a lot of these widely-populated dreams nowadays..
There's a large, "Welcome To The Vale" sign in the OOC, along with another sign directing you towards the IC area which is fairly helpful.
As I'm walking even deeper into the IC area of The Vale, I'm noticing there are some real similarities to "Denali National Park" - almost like a knock off, to be honest. I've been in the Vale before it's revamp, and Denali's style was there first. So there's no arguing that the similarities aren't coincidence. Inside sources have told me that there was a dispute between Denali and The Vale over a patch that was stolen - I spoke with the artist themselves, and it was confirmed that they, in fact, were stolen and The Vale was caught using this patch.
There are some nice areas in the dream, but I can't get past the fact that there were stolen patches in the dream, and that's it's very similar to Denali. The large group of people that RP here might make for a nice RP spot, but I cannot support a dream that's been involved in theft.
Wandering more into it, I found some very bland spots that need a little more decorating, and the leveling of the dream was pretty flat.
I've come to find that there are quite a lot of rude people in this dream, however, I also did meet some very nice people. I suppose all popular dreams have their little groups of "trolls" - I will not name names or call people out, so please, do not ask me who they were. I'll be the respectful one in the matter here.
No dream is perfect. The wolf avatar (found as "Canine" species) was fairly bouncy and didn't have a smooth walkabout. The dream has some nice parts and there are lots of RP opportunities. However, like I said, I don't support dreams directly linked with theft. In my personal opinion, I'll stick with Denali.
